Just for the records: Today I tested the WRT54GL v1.1 with Tarifa 35b and a WAP54G v2 with stock firmware 3.05.03 (EU) as Wireless Repeater. This works like a charm with WPA-AES but not with WPA2-AES (as expected). WPA(1) with AES appears to be the best you can get with Linksys firmware. As far as I can judge AES is not cracked yet (WEP and TKIP are considered weak nowadays). And there seems not much difference in security between what ever WPA you use as long as goes with AES (correct me if I'm wrong). EDIT: A little note on the Tarifa wireless status screen: "Rx Signal WDS" stays up to a reasonable value, even with the WAP54G powered down and even after long time (looks like it shows the last "good" rssi value).
