    Hi together,

I'm new here in the forum and my english isn't the best, so please be indulgent.

I flashed the new kamikaze Image on my router and logged in by using putty (telnet agent) and set a password. And there I stand now.

The router is answering on Ping, but nothing more. Telnet says "connection refused" and I can't flash a new Image with TFTP.

Even a hard-reset doesn't bring me further. I also tried to fix the problem in failsafe-mode (there telnet gets a connection) but I don't know where I have to change something.

    Has anyone an idea???

    Yes.

As soon as you set a password, OpenWRT disables the Telnet daemon and enables the SSH daemon. Try connecting to your router using SSH (eg. Putty on Windows).

thanks a lot, now I have configured my router. But there is the next problem. I use WPA2 WLAN encoding and my PC can't connect to the router. The pc sees the router and recognizes WPA2, also asks for the key, but then he doesn't connect. I don't get a error-message or something....

do you have an answer on this too?

I do not run Kamikaze but tested it out. I suggest Whiterussian - it appears to be far more functional for wireless at this time.

For Kamikaze, be sure and use kernel 2.4 for Broadcom (2.6 wireless does NOT work at this time). This worked for me in Kamikaze 7.09:

    ##########################
    from /etc/config/wireless...
    ##########################
    config wifi-device wl0
    option type broadcom
    option channel 11

    config wifi-iface
    option device wl0 # device
option network lan # for bridge
    option mode ap
    option ssid (MySSID)
    option encryption psk2 # wpa2 psk/aes
    option key (MyWPAPSK)
    ##########################

This is a WRT54Gv4 which should be identical operation to the WRT54GL.

    HTH,
    Bill
