Hello, i test my new node :

    used: Tomato
    Version 1.13

    PC Server (WDS)-------> Node1(WDS/AP)<------Client B
    Client A

work fine , but i have one big problem,

when i ping the client A , ping fine 1ms
When i ping the client B , ping fine 2 ms

but when i ping the some time the Client A an Client B , they have interruptions in the pings ?????

i try everyting , disable firewall etc.. ???????????

What is the best firmware to WDS?

If I am not mistaken for WDS the best firmware is DD-WRT. Please correct me if I am wrong

I don't know why you would lose pings, but I would not worry about it. It may be that the ICMP packets get confused if you ping from both directions at the same time.

The real test would be if you _use_ - like do file transfers or something like that - from both sides simultaneously.

@Pawel35: I would not agree that dd-wrt is the BEST for WDS. The best is rather defined by exactly what you want to do, and which firmware suits that scenario best. For straight WDS links however, I would go with Tomato or Thibor15c - fewer fancies that could go wrong. If you want to do WDS subnetting or such fancy stuff (and do it from within the web interface), then dd-wrt is probably the more suitable choice.

That's how we would expect it, as the wireless comms are half duplex, so only one wireless node can speak at a time. With your WDS nodes in between clients, this effect would be pronounced. However, both files should have downloaded in full. Did they?

I have WDS working quite well with Tomato. We have three routers set up in a WDS chain spanning two apartments running Tomato 1.15 (I keep them up-to-date) and WPA AES. They haven't gone down unexpectedly since I put the network together (though I do schedule them all to reboot at 3am every Sunday). I would say that Tomato is rock-solid for WDS. I couldn't be any happier.

eduardi, my question was: Did the file you copied from A to B, at the same time as copying another file from B to A, copy the whole file, or did the copy stop somewhere, and the files only copied partly?

HennieM , i´am in Server , and i copy at same time , 1 file for Cliente1 , and other file to Client Node, and only download the first file i copy , one pause, and download the other file, dont dowload at same time the 2 files.

    see:

when i ping Cliente node and Client 1 at same time the pings break.
