WRT54GL web interface doesn't recognize password when typed in Linux

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by SolidAndShade, Sep 3, 2008.

  1. I'm using Ubuntu Hardy and I'm trying to log into the web interface of my new WRT54GL. When I go the the URL, the login/password won't work. I've been able to successfully log in with my Windows notebook, change the password, and change the firmware to Tomato, but none of these changes have helped me log in through Linux.

It seems that Linux is formatting the characters in a way that the router doesn't recognize -- maybe they're not supposed to be in Unicode or something. Has anyone else encountered problems like this? Any ideas for a fix? Any help appreciated.

My Hardy with Firefox 3.0.1 works just fine to any/all of my Linux based routers. When I check what Firefox says under "Character Encoding", it's Unicode (UTF-8). Hardy comes out with some beta Firefox, I think 3.0b - have you loaded the patches?
