    Hi to all,

I have a wired SMC 7004 BR downstairs to connect with my isp (T-Online). At the switch from the SMC there are several PC´s connected. Some downstairs, some upstairs. Now I want to buy and install a WRT54GS upstairs.

Is it possible to connect the Linksys at the "SMC network"?
There is no DHCP running, everything in the net with static ip´s. I think, the Linksys must get a static ip from the "SMC range", and this ip is being set as DMZ in the SMC downstairs.
So, upstairs I can use the Linksys wireless, but with the whole Linksys "features" and it´s firewall. So, upstairs the SMC is "bypassed".

    Is this correct and possible?

    Many thanks, Bernie
