WRT54GS does it need a firmware upgrade for WDS?

If I get a WRT54GS V6 does it need a 3rd party firmware (DD-WRT) for WDS or does the Linksys firmware support WDS "out of the box"?

Want to extend my wireless network where I can't run a wire. Already have a WRT54G just as described here:

Do I need to change the firmware when I get the second WRT54GS to use WDS?

DON'T GET A v6! Rather see if you can get a WRT54GL. The v6 has limited flash space, and can only run limited 3rd party firmware (dd-wrt micro).

Stock firmware MAY support lazy WDS. (I had a v5 GS that did). However, you don't have much control there. Rather get a proper router, load 3rd party fw, and do the WDS right.
