I have Verizon DSl in Redmond Washington. My old Linksys router died so I purchased a new WRT54GS and need to hook it up.
Do I set it up with STATIC IP, DHCP, PPoE? Verizon just puts you on hold and doesn't return emails. I can't remember what I used on my old router. I have tried all three using the Linksys software but the program always shows no connectivity. I keep thinking I used Static IP last time but I am not sure what numbers to put in all the boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i am using a Westell
B90-210015-04 for my modem (from Verizon) if that helps at all.

Downloaded NETSET from Linksys and let it run. It configured everything automatically and my router is up and running. I wonder why they don't put this program on the CD that comes with the router

i dont think the verizon uses Static IP, Do you know if you have to sign in for access? i'd guess DHCP or PPoE, if the NETSET doesnt work try setting to DHCP and power cycling everything, then log back into the router and goto the status page to check on the connection
