I have a really odd issue where, after havinng been checking out various firmwres, I now have LAN and WAN problems. I can connect to the router prefectly fine via wireless but if I try and connect with a wired connection, DHCP assigns the IP fine but I can't admin the router (can't even ping it). Ipconfig reveals a correct IP, DNS and Gateway but I can't do anything with it. Same thing if I set a static IP (Windows reports I'm connected properly but I can't even ping the router). As for the WAN port, I set the PPPoE details but when I try and get the router to connect, it can't. As if the WAN port isn't working. When connected via wifi, I can open a PPPoE connection from my computer, so the WAN port isn't dead (i.e. I cna open a connection from my computer but can't get the router to open one). Basically, it's just acting like a wireless switch.

I'm assuming I have dud nvram settings or something (even after flashing any firmware or resetting to factory defaults)

Any ideas what migh tbe happening here? I have a V1.1 WRT54GS

sounds like you flashed with the wrong version of a firmware.some older versions have a different ethernet controler that takes a different driver than newer ones...

The power LED's not blinking. I HAD flashed wifibox at one point but have since flashed the official Linksys, HyperWRT, DD-WRT.
