    Hi all,

Got a bit of a problem and hoping any of you might be able to help me

I've just set up a network 500gb hard drive and have it connected to my linksys WRT54GS wireless router.

I have mapped the network drive to a drive on my pc so that I can access it more easily from within XP and so that I can download straight to it.

The problem is every now and again my torrents that I'm downloading will not be able to find the network hard drive and will stop downloading until I click resume. It only seems to happen when I'm streaming video to my other pc off the hard drive. It also sometimes messes the internet up and I have to pull the plug on my router and plug it back in to get the internet fully working again.

I'm I overloading the Router do you think? Will a newer model or firmware sort this problem out? I really am stuck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Karl

maybe you could tell us how are all your computers and NAS devices connected to the router/each other? Are they wired? Wireless? This could help, as my crystal ball is rather murky lately...

The Network hard drive is wired to the router using a standard network cable, so is the pc which is used for downloading etc, and the cable modem.

    The upstairs pc connects wirelessly.
