    "Hello World"

I have a WRT54GS w/ Speedbooster wireless router and a notebook w/ the WPC54GS with Speedbooster wireless card. All is fine. I am able to connect to the net, until I move from one room to another. I live in a 2 story place. My router is located on the second floor. I lose a lot of signal when I go to the first floor. My questions are:

    1. What is the average range for this router?
    2. How strong does the signal need to be to penetrate through walls?
    3. Will upgrading the firmware enhance the router's range?
    4. Would you recommend a range extender?

    Thanks

Might be worth your while reading my thread a couple below http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7671
Walls do tend to be the problem, I can get around 150m outside on standard antennas but far less through a wall. 2.4 just aint designed for building penetration :)
As it's a vertical problem might be worth adjusting the 2 antennas to about 45 degrees from the horizontal?
    Best of luck / scriv
