WRT54GS v. 4 - Unable to connect one wireless

I just bought a new PC and am using a remote Linksys wireless receiver to pick up the internet signal from my WRT54GS router. I misplaced the router password and the encryption key so I had to reset the router. After it came back online, I was able to connect the new PC using the new key just fine. But my laptop cannot stay connected. If I plug directly into the router, I get the internet just fine. But I am constantly prompted for the encryption key on my laptop when trying to connect via the wireless. It tries to acquire the network address, spins its wheels for a long time, then just looks as though I didn't just try to connect. Sometimes it says "Connected" for one or two seconds.

I have reset this twice, and am pulling my hair out. I have removed power from both the router and the cable modem. I have press reset. I have run the Linksys CD Wizard. I have even connected to the IP address and checked the settings there. Just ticks me off the new one now works, but the old one doesn't anymore! Two steps forward one huge one backwards.

Does anyone have advice on what to do next, please? Thank you!
