    JTAG is the only way.

I had the same thing happen to my V3 G, And i yet to Jtag it either.

But alas, its the only thing thats going to fix it.

Trying to initiate a recovery by "pin shorting", is not advisable. Your trying to "corrupt" the flash chip so that it'll initiate a recovery, it's also a method to "fry" the flash chip permanently. Why can't you "build" or buy a jtag cable. Instructions are all over the net.

This device has the BCM4712 CPU. With this CPU it is recommended to use the VINT build.

To check compatibility, execute the following command from a telnet window:

    nvram show | grep wl0_corerev

For corerev 4 or less you should use the VINT build.

    Normal builds:
    - corerev 9 and over: no problems
    - corerev 5 and 7: no vifs in AP mode, only 1 vif in client modes (repeater, repeater bridge)
    - corerev 4: not compatible - use VINT

    VINT builds:
    - corerev 4, 5, 7: no WPA on vif in client modes (repeater, repeater bridge)
    - corerev 9 and over: not compatible - use normal builds.
