Just thought I'd post some helpful pics on modding a WRT54GS V3.0 to keep it cool. I boosted my antenna output by double (84mw) and noticed that the router was getting really hot. It was dropping connections repeatedly using Tomato firmware.

I simply bought some copper DIMM memory heat sinks and put them on any of the ECU's I could find being careful not to allow the copper to short out any surrounding solder points. They had double sided adhesive already on the bottom of the heat sinks. I then added a 5mw cooling fan to help exchange the air inside the router by soldering them to the main power input.

The entire system runs super cool and connectivity is solid!

    Good work there fella.

If ur not bothered about the aesthetics then remove or poke holes through the face sticker, that will aid the flow of cool air :D

Good work but I think you needed that mod not for the heat inside, but for the looks.:)
Anyway, it's a ''LinksysInfo - Community Forums for Linksys Devices > Linksys Hardware > Modding Forum'' kinda of post, like this one: One or two fans to cool my WRT54GL...
