Apologies in advance if this has already been discussed somewhere...

Tried loading dd-wrt.v22_wrt54gs.bin from the stock FW GUI... it failed. I read that > 3M .bins were a problem with some LinkSys FWs so I tried the "basic" variant which weighs in a tad under 3M and that didn't work either.

Tried the v23 beta mini and that loaded. Then reverted to v22 and subsequently bricked the router such that only the pin shorting trick brought it back,

Is v22 final not compatible with this HW version and I just haven't found a note to that effect? If so, how stable is the latest v23 beta relative to features offered in v22 final? Stability is an issue.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can provide.

Yes, the v22 is too old. The v3 GS has too new of a chip. The latest v23 is pretty stable to just use that and watch for new versions.

Thanks, gaster. I'll keep an eye on v23 status.
