I just bought a WRT54GS v4. I read the wiki which said that only v23 would work with v4. So I got beta 2, since it's the newest, and went to flash the router via the web interface. In Linksys's famous incorrect grammar, I got "upgrade are failed". So, I used linksys's TFTP utility b/c my win2k3 server box doesn't have tftp for some reason.... I got the router back to stock firmware, but I can't seem to get it swapped over to dd-wrt. any help PLEASE :(

The V4 units won't take anything larger than 3 MB initially so you need to try the mini version first. After that you can flash to the standard one. Be careful, after a few flashes these V4 routers seeem to get stuck on one family of firmwares so to speak. I have one flashed first to mini then to standard, finally to HyperWRT and it's stuck, I can't flash to anything else now, even the mini.
Anyway, try the mini and then standard, it should work.

in beta 2 there is no mini. I'll check to see if there's one in beata 1, but I'm running out of options...

Yes there is. I just downloaded 27.10.05-dd-wrt.v23.mini_beta2.zip last night.

Have you tried holding reset button down for 30 sec to reset to defaults and then tried flashing?
