    Hi i have the Linksys WRT54GS v5.1, and i decided to install the DD-WRT firmware so i could use in on my xbox 360. Everything worked fine for several months until today i tryed using it and it doesn't seem to be doing anything, the power light, ethernet lights (all four) and the internet light is switched on and solid. When i connected it to my pc it doesnt respond and has the "A network cable is unplugged" message. I've tryed shorting it with with 5/6 and 15/16 pins but i guess thats for older versions and it didnt work with this one.
    Can anyone help me with this problem? thanks

    Its a very bad idea to start shorting pins on the 5.1.

    The pin layout will not be the same as previous versions.

    Is more than likely u have fried your router.

    set your computer ip to
    turn off the router
    start/run/cmd to bring up a command prompt.
    ping /t

    hit enter
    turn the router on.

    If you get any replies u may be able to save it by tftp-ing the firmware back on it again.

    let me know what happens.
