Hi, I'm new to this forum and wireless. I have aWRT54gs version 6 router and a Intel pro wireless 3945abg network card in a new Dell 6400 notebook(Windows XPsp2 home). A couple of questions I have are why would Linksys support recommend that I disable Intel PROSet/wireless software and use the Windows WZC utility to manage my wireless connection. Do they not both provide the same function. Are both not designed to setup edit and manage network profiles and does any one do better than the other as far as working with the Linksys setup software Easylink Connect. One other question is almost everything I read tells you to disable your SSID broadcast. If done how will I be able to connect or detect my own network. I'm new to networking but learn quickly and thank you for any help.
