The error message I get is that "EasyLink advisor did not detect an active network adaptor on your computer. Enable your computers networks adaptor and click next to continue"

I saw a thread regarding using NVidia on board and how it was a problem. has there been a work around or a fix of some sort or do I take this back to the store?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't know where you are nor where you are going.

My guess is that, at this point, you are on your computer, and there seems to be no network card/adapter in- or connected to- your computer.

You can only see (or not see) the WRT54GS once you have some sort of wireless or wired connection from your computer to the WRT54GS.

How do you connect your router to your PC?
it seems you do not have any network adapter configured on your PC.
The nvidia integrated network card usually works fine, but you'll need recent drivers (see at www.nvidia.com). You'll aqlso need a cable.

Yes I'm on my computer! the network is built into the mother board! The Linksys Easy link advisor says that I have to enable my local area connection! it is indeed enabled (or I wouldn't be able to connect and communicate with you) but for some reason the software does not recognize it! There is a thread here somewhere that addresses the issue of the NVIDIA on board network. My question was has there been any fix or work around for this problem?

Can't help you with the NVidia network adapter, and I also don't know what the "EasyLink advisor" is. When you mentioned NVidia in your initial post I thought you were talking about a graphics card.

This is a friendly community forum, so it always helps to give clear and full information, even if you think it unnecessary - that will help people who could help you. Remember that the forum members are not there to see your setup, nor may they be using the same OS, hardware, etc. as what you are.

Assuming you want to configure the WRT:
What you could do, provided that you have some physical network connection between your computer and the WRT54GS, is to fire up your browser and try to connect to (may also be I forget what default is). This will take you to a web page on your WRT54GS, which will allow you to configure it.
