WRT54GSv4 + DD-WRT v23SP2 = Slow transfer rates & periodic connectivity loss

I had been running DD-WRT v22 on my WRT54GSv4 for a long time...it worked great except for the fact that periodically my wired connection would lose its network connection. The other night I finally decided to try and upgrade to v23SP2-standard to see if that would fix the problem...now my connection to the router is stable, but my internet connection keeps going out. When it does work it goes extremely slow, and then eventually it just stops completely. Last night I kept trying to get my PPPoE connection to connect and it just wouldn't do it. It's not the internet connection itself because I hooked my laptop directly to the modem and was able to connect and surf just fine. I only have 1 active computer on here. I have the Max available ports set at 512, and they're only about 50% used. My TCP and UDP timeouts are both 3600.

Any suggestions? I'm seriously beginning to consider going back to the Linksys firmware.

As a note, I just switched to v23 SP2-Mini and it seems to be working correctly now. We'll see if that works out for me.

That leads me to my next question though...why would Mini work and Standard not?

Max ports are normally set to 4096 and TCP & UDP timeouts are 90 to 300 to resolve slowdowns

Mine is set to 4096 and TCP 90 and UDP 90. Works great. I have DD-WRT v23 SP2 standard
