WRT54GX dropped connections/unreliable signal

    Hey all,

    Just bought this router yesterday. We get full signal through any of the wired ports in the router. However, the router seems to have a lot of trouble sending the Internet signal across the Wi-Fi channels.

    Had it set up yesterday but after 5-6 hours (around 6 pm) dropped connection while I was playing World of Warcraft.

    Same thing today, about 18 hours after we got it set up (6pm ish again) drops connection across wireless channels while wired channels still function.

    The tech support folks told me to turn off the ACK setting as well as the 802.11e QoS setting. It still seems rough on the signal. The signal now is very unstable, the more data transferred, it seems, makes the router give less and less service to the user.

    Before changing these settings, the signal was more reliable, however, it just switches off in the middle of the day.

    Downloading the latest firmware doesnt seem to help. (1.01.07).

    I really dont want to return this product. I may have to, however. Very unimpressed with linksys on this one. Usually the best products.

    We are connecting through the local cable company. The problem isnt on them, as the signal still goes through the wired ports constantly and reliably. Using a Motorola SurfBoard cable modem.

    All other settings are factory, aside from some small port forwarding stuff.

    Any thoughts? please help!

    I too lose signal ALL THE TIME! Very unreliable product.

    I am not happy with it at all. I too don't want to return it but....Belkin PRE-N here I come!
