Do not install this firmware update. I downloaded to my computer four times and updated the firmware on my WRT54GX it disabled the radio each time. :( I could only connectrough my WRT54G being used as a access point or a wired conection and went back to version 1.01.04. I am contacting Linksys.

Not the first few times, I only did a reboot and a power down and up. I did a hard reset only after talking to Linksys support via the web page. The radio came up. You cannot use a configuration from the last firmware, so you have to re-enter all your setting, which I am in the process of doing so. I guess there is a conflict between firmware versions that disables the radio. Thanks Toxic for the suggestion. I will have to remember it next time, but with all my other collection of Linksys hardware, this is the first time I had to do a factory reset, except for when I was playing with Sveasoft firmware on my WRT54G v1.0 and V2.0. I guess I will document my setting and re-enter them next time.

yeah if there is alot of changes bewteen firmwares this can cause problems.

Hard reset is the best thing to do when upgrading. you you loose settings but this can be a small price to pay if the features or fixes are benifitting you. the other option is dont upgrade:)
