Up until about 2 weeks ago, everything was working fine. Suddenly, the router seems to acting VERY weird for wireless, although when connected using wires, everything runs fine.

Basically, after a reset of the system, the router works wireless-ly for an unspecified period of time; then, suddenly, it drops all wireless connections and the only way to get them back is by re-setting the router. All this time, wired connections continue to work fine!!!!

yeah i am having the same problem, i sent my old wrt54gx back when it keep dying when downloading bittorrents and go the ver 2 back and for some reason most days after use on the wireless it stops working and requires me to turn it off then back on. I have noticed that the wireless light turns off when this happens.

    WRT54GX ver 2 dropping off

I'm having the same problem. The wireless quits working and when I go have a look I find that the power and wireless lights are off and the Internet light is on and flashing. I have to unplug the thing and then it will work fine for a little while. Sometimes all the lights will look normal but it will not be broadcasting its SSID also. I have to unplug it then also. I've tried different routers, different plugs, different settings...and I am out of ideas.

Confirming the same trouble with the WRT54GX. i've been Using different firmware versions all gives some kind of trouble the latest 08 acting like a memoryleak, after a certain amount of work it just seems to give up. portmappings and triggers seems to work in some cases in others not and reboot is usually necessary. The Web inteface is real slow compared to others.

It looks a lot better now it is running fine for 12 hours now (havent tried to activate wireless again yet). What i did ... I restored to factory defaults an reinstalled 08 firmware reapplied my config and so far it looks a lot better.

Same type of problems occuring on my side. I wanted to know if you all have many wireless networks in the same area. We have many wireless networks in this area and, I believe, this may be causing the problem.
The reason I say this is we had a Zyxel router here previously and had the exact same problem.
So, I'm thinking of trying to mess with channel that the router is on.
I wanted to know what the rest of your thoughts would be on this. Do any of you have any other ideas on this? Have any of you figured out the solution to this problem?

I have the some problems when I try to use Azureus ande Emule.

Testing with a Cisco Aironet A-B-G PCMCia card, do not see the problem again.

With my D-Links (Peace of Shit) DWL-G520+ (TI Chipset) with the drivers version 3.0 for B1 revison, the issue is back.

I resolve this using the 5Bj driver for 5410/5416 USR G cards.

Try using another adapter, this is no WRT54GX fault in my case, this is a adapter driver problem.

I used both US and European firmware in my WRT54GX v1 USA router, the European have more estable and functional UpNP feature.

Sorry about the poor Inglesh I´m from Brasil.

Not to beat a dead horse but I have the same problem as well. Has linksys been notified or have they released any acknowledgement to this problem? If so many of us have posted already we must be just a small sample of the people with these problems.

I see this is an older post, but I too have the same issue. Anyone have any solutions, other than upgrade to a V2 model?
