    I'm using a wmp54gs w/speedboost pci card in a workstation.
I can see the router signal but cant connect. Keep getting a "can not associate with the access point in the linksys software.
    I'm running xp sp1

btw..my laptop connects fine using the srx card.
    thanks

    Hi,

Just curious ... any particular reason you aren't running SP2 on the wmp54gs machine? My experience both at home and work has taught me that SP2 handles wifi waaaaaay better.

The laptop with the srx ... is it SP1 also?

I have a WRT54GX Linksys SRX router and I also have a WMP54GS Linksys Speedbooster PCI card. The WMP54GS connects to and communicates through the router without any problems. Don't know what you may be running into but make sure the SSID's are identical. Also, don't install the Linksys drivers for the WMP54GS if you're using Windows XP. It has the drivers built in.

When I first got the WMP54GS I didn't read the documentation and went ahead and installed the Linksys software. I had the same problem you're describing. Since I uninstalled the Linksys driver, everything's been working great.

    Hey stevejoe --

just curious, as I'm considering changing my router from the 54GS to the GX ... what kind of throughput are you able to maintain when copying larger (> 100MB) files between wireless PC's?
