Okay I found the 1.00.13 source on linksys's website....

now how to I compile it so I can use it to flash onto my router?

I really need vonage on this SRX and dont wana have to toggle the firewall constantly.

Sadly 1.00.13 still doesn't fix the vonage issue.

    New beta 15

new beta 1.00.15 is available from Linksys for the WRT54GX4. This solves the firewall-VOIP DOS issue, plus the clock (EST 2 hrs ahead) and DDNS custom setting problem I experienced. I worked with a very helpful guy at Linksys (yes, read that again!) and he interfaced with the engineering group to troubleshoot the firewall VOIP "choppy audio" DOS issue. Good service, but why, oh why did it take them until the middle of March '06 to acknowledge and troubleshoot this router?

does it actually fix the problem or do their release notes claim that it does?

FYI, I stand corrected. Actually 1.00.13 DOES fix the Vonage issue, but you MUST do a master reset, otherwise it will seem like it doesn't.

To do a master reset, I did...

Hold in reset button on back for 5 seconds and then kill the power, while still holding in the reset button. Coninue to hold the reset button and after 5 seconds, turn the router back on and continue to hold the reset button for another 10 seconds.

This should do a complete master reset and you will be good to go.

how come the techs at linksys say there is no 1.00.15 out ... Is this fake did anyone try it yet ?

Because it is only being sent to people with specific problems, as it is still in the testing stages(I hear there are some issues with wireless throughput when not using the GX4 notebook card). It does exist and I am running it as I type this. The reason I am running it is because it fixes the Vonage issue(it treated the Vonage data flow as a DOS attack and would purposely drop packets, thus making Vonage choppy and unuseable without disabling the firewall).

you mean throughput when not using the GX4 notebook card issue with 1.00.15 or all betas ? Did it solve your Vonage Problem ?

I think it pertains to only 1.00.15, as that is what I've seen people mention. As for my Vonage issue, yes it did fix it(1.00.13 and 1.00.15 both have the fix). The only thing is, after loading the firmware, you have to do a full master reset of the router, otherwise the fix won't take.

    I found 1.00.15 to be unstable. I used it with a WPC54GX4.

I reverted back to the 1.00.12 and did a reset to default factory setting before ans after the firmware change. My speed and connectivity are back up.

    .15 firmware

I am the guy who got the .15 from Linksys. How did I do this? I faxed a letter to their HQ in Irvine and told them their wrt54gx4 stunk to high heaven, and their first line "tech support" stunk even worse. "Customer support" obviously are not in contact with the engineers, they denied there was any problems with the .10 firmware. They just read from a script.
After my fax, four hours later, I got a personal call from an engineer from Linksys, who troubleshot my problems, gave me .13 to try. It didn't fix VOIP, so he went back to the dev group and he coughed up .15 three days later. I think we in this forum are the only ones who have access to .15. I had a few issues with .10:
    VOIP DoS.
Time was messed up - GMT was 2 hours ahead (fixed now but still shows GMT-4 instead of -5 for EST in .15!).
DDNS custom setting for DynDNS did not work.
.13 fixed everything except the DoS.
It's true you upgrade to .15 then do a hard reset to make it work. I'm surprised some folks find it unreliable - it's a heck of a lot better than .10 -.13.....................

Between those cited, which it is more reliable to firmware? Where I can find version 1.00.13? Thanks

    Re: .15 firmware

What number did you fax too? I'm one of the folks who are sufferring with this routers inability to work with the xbox 360 wirless adaptor and would love that kind of attention since thus far I haven't been able to get CS, level 1 or level 2 techs to acknowledge the problem.

    1.00.13 firmware

I just picked up this router and it had 1.00.13 on it. Vonage works as well as it did with my WRT54G router. Wireless seems to be better, but it was rebooting itself, then stopped. Should I try the 1.00.15 firmware?

This is still definitely a problematic router after 1.00.15 and although I love it on my computers, it can't connect on the XBOX 360 wireless adapter. Monday I'm going to contact Linksys corporate (MUCH thanks for those numbers, btw) and see if I can get someone who isn't in india and in complete denial about anything anti-linksys-firmware.

I honestly can't believe how useless their customer support is. hell, if I wanted to read their knowledge base docs I could do it myself without having to hear haji stumble through english to do it for me.

I wish my WRT54G didn't get fucked up... it worked perfectly. PERFECTLY!!!
