WRT54GX4 cannot connect to AT&T VPN client

I would appreciate some help with a problem I having connecting to my company network using the AT&T VPN client after installing the WRT54GX4 router.

The problem only occurs with my desktop wired connection. My notebook system connects perfectly over the wireless connection.

Previously everything worked OK with my older WRT54G router (and confirmed it still does) so I am pretty sure the problem is related to the new router.

The router has F/W rev 1.00.19 and I confirmed the VPN Pass Throughs are all enabled.

I have watched the VPN client status as it tries to connect and it seems the problem is related to authentication and trying to connect to a specific IP address. I have experienced a similar problem when I used ZoneAlarm (now removed from my system) and I had to manually set ZoneAlarm to allow access to/from that IP address. However, I cannot find any place in the WRT54GX4 setup that lets me manually set the IP address.

I have also tried turning off the WRT54GX4 Firewall Protection and no difference. Just in case, I also turned of Windows XP firewall and again no change.

Again, what makes this really confusing is the connecting to the VPN using the wireless connection works perfectly.

And yes, I tried connecting my notebook to the router with a cable and got exactly the same problem as my desktop system.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Bob
