    how about this thibor.

set up a paypal donation account for donations to help pay for a wrt54gx for you to re-write your firmware for use on the gx's.

I know i'd be happy to donate to the fund and i'm sure others would too.

the gx4 isn't available in the uk, somebody would need to send one to me, otherwise it would be pointless

you think maybe i am oblivious of ebay? if i had wanted one i would've bought one, just like the wrtsl54gs's i imported because i knew that there were possibilities to make them more than they were. i think if they were moddable, somebody would've done it already...don't you?
there are lots(well maybe not lots, but certainly a few) of talented firmware writers that have already looked at the sources for possible solutions. my position still stands, if i get a gxv4 i'll look at modding it, if not, there's no point me even starting

Please set up a Paypal Account so we can send money for you to get one for you to mod. I would love to have good Firmware that works like it should.

maybe, but not one specifically for a wrt54gx fund.

I just moved house anyway, and my gx didn't survive being transported (I think something fell on it's box during transportation) so it's pretty much acedemic for me now anyway.

the good news is that i have an excuse to buy something a little more effective and since linksys made very little effort to do anything about their problem despite me giving them lots of info they were seemingly ignorant of they've lost me as a customer, and i'll be buying something off one of their competitors now.

P.S. Thibor, not sure if it's of any use to you, but my ISP increased my upload bandwidth before I movedm, and I noticed that my router was up for much longer than before with no other settings changed.

didn't know if it might be relevent or not.
