    Sure

Yeah no problem. Next time PM me though so I know to check this post.

BTW, I was having the same issue with 1.10 then I got 1.30 off the internet and then 1.60 from tech support.
But, I still am having issues with my ports being open. My router says they are, but the ports aren't actually open. Any problems with that yourself?

    Good Luck!!

I had a similar converstaion online with Linksys this morning, as I'm having the same problems with my Comcast cable internet. The WRT54G that I borrowed works fine, but my WRT55AG keeps flaking out. They finally promised to send me the 1.6 beta by the end of the day, but not received yet. GuitarGeek, I've PM'd you to see if you could send me a copy, or is there anybody else out there that could forward it to me? Thanks!

    -Tim

    Hi,

could you send me a copy of 1.6? I'm new, so I'm not sure what it means to "PM".

I have invested in Linsys, because I was concerned about the Taiwanese software of other products, but despite being pretty, I have already found the Linksys firmware lacking.

I was hoping to setup 802.11a with WPA encryption, but the Intel software on my Dell 9300 (2915ABG) seems to want a key, whereas the Linksys WRT55AG seems to only want a paraphrase, no key generated.

I also have an RT31P2-NA which will give me 2 VIOP ports (an a redundant router)

    and

a ADSL2MUE which is my basic connection to ASDL.

    Has anyone put these together?

I was thinking of connecting the "Ethernet" port of the ADSL modem to the "Internet" port of the RT31P2-NA.

Then connecting port "3" of the RT31P2-NA to the "Internet" port of the WRT55AG.

This would then goive me 2 x 10/100 ports on the RT31P2-NA, and 4 x 10/100 ports on the WRT55AG, as well as the wireless a and g (and b) ports on the WRT55AG.

Don't quite know how best to use the redundant PSI firewall/router, or if I shouls disable it altogether.

This is an entirely domestic installation.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated

    Re: Sent it

Thanks very much! Unfortunately it hasn't solved my problem, though the symptoms are different now. After about a day it lost the DHCP lease and refuses to get a new one. Guess I'm off to get a different brand A+G router, or keep the 55AG as merely an WAP and use my old Cisco 806 router instead.

WRT55AG = Headaches and endless nagging from wifes

that would be great if i could get that firmware, but it doesnt seem that anyone actually replied and expressed wether or not it actually fixed their problems. Im having the problem that the router will not get the correct ip address...i have to reset the router mabey 15 times waiting about 5 mins between each one before it will get the correct numbers. then randomly the router will change them in the middle of the day and my wife will get super pissed off at me because the internet wont work and she has not the slightest clue how to fix it.

I tried using that "NetSet assistant" thingy, and that actually seems to be the best thing to get the correct ip, but it always will change in the middle of the day for no apparent reason.

I was just wondering if you knew if this new firmware will fix this, because i dont see the point in updating it if it doesnt solve the problem, just has the potential to create worse problems that i dont know how to fix right away.....

Would it help if i had a linksys brand cable modem also???
