I've seen that link.. jtag is there even though the port does not exist.. My question was has anyone found (or eve looked for) the connection points.
Jtag or "ejtag" if you will is built into the processor. it exists on most if not all broadcom processors. Just because there is not a "port" on the pcb, does not mean it does not exists. Just need to find the connection points. It is possible that the connection points on the processor just rest on blank pads on the pcb. That is why I posted.. Do see if anyone has found, or even looked for the connection points.
Where did you find a data sheet? All I can find is an overview with a block diagram. I need the technical specs of the chip showing the pinout. The 600 has either a 4785 or 4705 depending.. Same as the 300n V1.1 which has jtag. If I can get the pinouts, I may be able to use the 300 as referance and find the connection points on the 600
barry - it wasn't proper datasheet - probably same block diagram as you've seen. I have tried to find full datasheet but no luck. Also no answer from manufacturer.
I'm close to finding it. I am comparing a 300n with my 600. They have the same processor and the 300 has a jtag port. Tracing multi layer boards are a bit of a challange. I am to the point now I am looking for a bricked 600 to purchase (cheap). The next step is to test what I believe to be the connection points. This will involve solder and I am not willing to risk my working 600.
mito - that wasn't reaction to barryware - anyway - it is now deleted as others could think that i am attacking Barryware.
That's OK irootsk. Barryware is one of the persons that most knows about DD-WRT firmwares -not being the Forum moderators- and one of the few that fixes Linksys WRT600n and i think he was making some research. Rgds. mito
i can't really remember what for was that reaction as it was 3 years ago - but i think that some person whose message is already deleted were spamming around the whole forum. as you can see from the beggining of this thread i haven't had reason to attack Barryware. Peace
Yes i understand it, i know it was long ago, but learning about wrt600n router i wanted to know more about Barryware and found that post. Don't worry about it, peace and best regards. mito
