Well i got this new router and now my DynDNS account keeps warning me it is going to expire. My old router did not have a client so i ran a software client and it updated if it needed to or not every X number of days. So this DDNS feature in this Router is just about worthless.

Now if the DDNS client in the router would just have a keep alive setting so i don't have to remember to go to that site every month to login to keep my account with them active.

What is everyone else doing about this, am i using it wrong or is everyone just not using as that is the direction i may be going.

I haven't tried the built-in DynDNS client with the WRT610N. My last router had a similar feature but it didn't work with any measure of reliability, so I went with the DynDNS client. Despite it being yet another thing running in the background, it seems to work well.

I guess one of problems is that DynDNS could one day make changes to they way they handle updates, and *poof* the router update wouldn't work without a firmware update, whereas a new background client is an easy fix.
