    WRTbwlog v0.9 is available.

    - Added an editor to create, modify and delete files and NVRAM parameters through the webinterface. (for those out there, who don't like working with vi :D)
-Two traffic thresholds added, which can trigger custom scripts/actions.
-Previous billing periods can now be displayed.
-Enabled detailed view for yearly statistics.
-Modified the "Traffic" page for faster page display.
-Small usability enhancements (additional menu bar at the bottom of the page, link to the end of the page...).
-Bugfix: The Button for the speed display popup should now also work for IE users.
-Bugfix: Now start.sh/backup.sh shouldn't freeze anymore, if there is no FTP server at

For a detailed description of the new features, please have a look at http://www.hetos.de/bwlog.html

    nice work, littlewhoo, thanks!

how about adding a password to the 'configure' and 'editor' page ? or better, adding a mac filter list to restrict the access to them, so no need to bother with a pass.

    oops !!
i realize that i probably can do this from the 'Access Restriction' area of the router,
but with many client, it will be easier to work with an 'allow list' rather than the 'blocked list'

    paranoia, paranoia , when you're here !!

Adding a password or even mac protection to single pages would be quite difficult.

But it's really easy to add a passwort protection for the whole application. mini_httpd, the webserver I'm using in WRTbwlog, has .htpasswd support.

You can can create you own .htpasswd file, saving it in /tmp/bwlog (for example by using the included editor) and then restart WRTbwlog at the commandshell with
    cd /tmp/bwlog

If you have a proper .htpasswd files, now WRTbwlog should be password protected. For more information on .htaccess/.htpasswd please read

i read that the wrt password protects .asp files. so maybe if you change the pages that you want to be password protected to .asp.

This won't work, as im using the real mini_httpd webserver for WRTbwlog and not the crippled version included in the firmware with all kind of strange stuff (like the asp protection) hardcoded into it.

i am still having problems with the pasword. i have a .htpasswd .htaccess

the .htpaswd has the this: loginname:encyptedpassword

    the .htaccess has this:
    AuthUserFile /jffs/bwlog/xxx.htpasswd
    AuthGroupFile /dev/null
    AuthName password
    AuthType Basic

    require user loginname

You don't need a .htaccess file for mini_httpd. Just put a file named .htpasswd in the directory, where mini_httpd and all the cgis are (usually /tmp/bwlog/) and restart WRTbwlog by using the ./stop.sh and start.sh commands. That's it.

.htpasswd should contain the user name(s) in the format
