I have been trying to reset my router for days now trying to restore the default settings back to it. I have tried every method I know such as:

1.) Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds and release.

2.) Hold down reset button for 30 seconds, unplug power for 5 seconds while still holding the reset button, then plug it back in and release.

3.) Hold reset button for 30 seconds, then unplug power for 30 more seconds while holding the reset button, then plug the power back in and release.

All of these methods don't seem to work. I have a suspicion that there was something put on my router that disabled the reset button. I know there has to be a way to disable it because I know the router is physically working.

The main reason Im doing this is to access my router's configuration page in order to change a port setting that is blocking all ports 100-65000. You can imagine how frustrating this is. If this doesn't work, is there a way I can open up those ports without going through the router to do it? :( The default userID/Password Im using is admin/admin.

    the Vonage instruction says this:

do a factory reset on the router by holding down the reset button while you power it on

however your password and username maybe different is it is from a VOIP provider.

I have spent about an hour in accumulated time speaking with live tech people from linksys about the router. They say that there is no possible way to disable the reset button on the router. I have done everything they have said and it eventully came out to them telling me to return my router and get a new one which I dont want to do. Ive gotten it to reset before so it should be physically damaged and the seal on the router is intact so it was never opened.
