Whats the best firmware for using the router with torrent programs like ctorrent. Can the drive be left in NTFS? I'd also like the possibility of using a print server.

if you want a cli use openwrt if you want gui then use Thibors. dont know about full support on disc formats but am sure Thibor will comment here in a while

15c cannot format a drive in NTFS...yet. it will detect it, as well as REISERFS, EXT2, EXT3 and FAT32 though and allow R/W access. as for better/worse, i'm not gonna get into that, it's each to their own. if you want everything done, use mine; if you like complete configurability, use openwrt

Anyone got any comment on whats the best FS for such a purpose? I guess its really between REISERFS and EXT3

I just updated to 15c and cannot access the folders on my ext3 drive. I checked to make sure admin had r/w privaledges. It shows the drive, but does not allow me to do anything with it. Says It is not accessable and to contact administrator.

Ok I seem to have gotten all those issues fixed and now have r/w access to the drive. Now how do I get ctorrent going? Anyone got a tutorial for hyperwrt?

erm your trying to fit ctorrent on the actual router?

the routers speed is only 266Mhz are you sure this would even run on a router:)

I'm sure it will run on the router. Several folks have done it with openwrt...http://www.macsat.com/macsat/content/view/34/37/

It can be housed on my external drive and run from there. I'm not that familiar with linux. I haven't messed around with it in ages. It mounts my external drive at /foreign_shares/EXT32/.

The thing is I'm not sure how to get this to work as openwrt uses ipkg system. How do I "install" it?

read the openwrt? you seems to have lost the plot here. your asking questions that have answers yet you wont read the documentation that helps users.

    goto www.openwrt.org

    read the documentation

Toxic with all due respect I have read the documentation. Maybe you haven't?? The WRTSL54GS wiki is still kind of lacking over there... The PPOE problem was not well documented. In fact most users over there just decided to go back to RC4. I've got everything working on the router with openwrt. Please do not reply without a usefull answer. I was TRYING to get it to work with thibor, but could not get ipkg to work correctly with thibor. I'm sure others have, but I gave up on it. In conclusion I ran into NO wiki, doc, etc. That talked about ctorrent with 15c. If you know of such please point me in the right direction.

I have not read the documentation since i dont need ctorrent or any other package to run on my SL. If i did however, i would source every little thing about the SL over at openwrt forums if i was using it. The developers hang out there more than here.

I doubt if Thibors firmware would work correctly with ipkg packages since it is not built on a OpenWRT Source code, and so is not fully compatable. its just as simple as that.

DD-WRT project does have a build (with GUI) that is ipkg compatable however Brainslayer has only just received his SL and his firmware is soley based on the WRT54G/GS/GL variants and lack alot of features native to the SL. iI time he will add more features.

If you have a question purely on Thibor15c for the SL build i suggest try posting in the HyperWRT forum HERE

I have used the DD-WRT a little. I only tried the full version which seems to have some eh ipkg issues to say the least. run "ipkg update" on the full version if you want to see. I may try the micro which I believe is intended to actually work with ipkg. If ipkg works I can add all the features I need to the router anyway.

the issues maybe limited to free ram space which the SL should overcome. had you enable the JFFS partition when you had the ipkg issues?
