DD-WRT firmware does not have the extra features that the Linksys firmware or HypwerWRT firmware has. basically afaik the ddwrt firmware is the just the WRT54G/GS firmware made for WRTSL54GS.

you cannot get all these features in 3.3Mbs

the official firmware is much larger

The following thread implies it's possible to add this functionality via ipkgs:

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1183&highlight=wrtsl54gs+usb

    Additional info in the WIKI:

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/USB

and Sebastian plans for USB support for the wrtsl54gs at some future date (quoted from DD-WRT homepage):

sorry cannot sleep The Linksys WRTSL54GS is now officially supported by DD-WRT too (using the latest nightly builds )
in future i will also implement a Mediaserver using the USB connectors for external storages (same for Asus WL500G deluxe)

    WRTSL54GS ...DD-WRT download link?

I can't find any section @ DD-WRT that says "nightly builds" ....does anyone have a direct link for the WRTSL54GS as I just pulled mine out of the box ... :)

Any suggestions ...like should I boot up with the standard firmware and check things out or can I update this via the web browser?
