WRV200 - Can't get VPN to work

    I've tried off and on for several months to get a QuickVPN connection to a WRV200 - nothing works. I'm at the point where I need to get it working, or give up and find a different solution.

    I've been through many firmware versions and a kabillion configurations and settings. Most recently:

    Firmware: 1.0.24beta

    Connection:
    - Connected Win XP Pro PC directly to WAN port on WRV200 (to eliminate possible issues with NAT, port forwarding, etc.)
    - Static IP on PC (10.5.7.2/255.255.255.0)

    Changes to default router configuration:
    - Internet Connection Type: Static IP
    - IP Address: 10.5.7.1/255.255.255.0
    - Domain Name: dummydomain.net
    - Local IP Address: 10.5.5.1/255.255.255.0
    - Time Zone: EST
    - Wireless: Disabled
    - DoS Prevention: Disabled
    - Anonymous Internet Requests: Not blocked
    - Admin password: Changed from the default
    - Remote Management: Enabled
    - VPN: Add Username (testuser), Password (testuser)
    - (SNMP, Syslog, and UPnP disabled by default)

    QuickVPN:
    - version: 1.0.0.40
    - port: 443

    I shutdown the software firewall and antivirus on the PC. I started an Ethereal capture, and tried the connection. At the "Verifying Network" stage I get a message "The remote gateway is not responding. You will now be disconnected, please try again later".

    There is no more network activity, and QuickVPN does not respond until I kill it and restart it.

    I don't really understand the capture log, but I get about 35 frames and nothing jumps out at me (I'll be happy to post if it might help).

    Any ideas - or - suggestions for a solid product for one or two users to connect to a small business over a broadband connection?

    use port 60443. I have been told 443 does not work on the WRV200 for QuickVPN

    I concur, I have had nothing but issues with 443, I have not tested it with HTTPS turned off on the wrv200 as I use it for remote management, but i can say that 60443 works like a champ. As I have done for many others, if you have a continuing issue feel free to contact me offline and i will build an account for you to connect back to me and work from there. As a side note, I am in the US and i just helped someone not long ago from Poland connect and work to me here. Let us know how it goes.

    Wow! That worked!

    I've tried 60443 several times before, but something else must have been keeping me out then. One of my PCs can connect on this port now. Another still doesn't, but now I should be able to isolate the problem by looking for differences.

    I can't connect throu my WRV200 VPN router

    I've used 443 and 60443 and they just hags in verifying network. What's up with this? Please help
