    Hi all,

I am in CA with a wrv200 and am trying to walk my wife through the process of setting up my wrvs4400N in tx. I have set up all of the ddns addresses and thought I had every thing in order to just plug in a few values and go forward.

The problem is that the 'new' release for the wrvs4400N does not have the same fields and setup that all of the other linksys VPN routers I have set up have. Specifically, on the IPSEC VPN tab, there is new/different stuff; the area for 'remote gateway' on my other routers just has two fields, 'type' and address (IP or host). According to my wife, the 4400n has 4 or 5 fields and they do not even match the help screen or any user manual available on the linksys.com site that I have been able to view (including the current 4400n).

Can anyone help me with a readable screenshot and if possible a small discussion about the extra fields. It seems they want a 'domain' (new) and then an ip qualified by the same domain. I have a dyndns host name that I have used with several other routers but apparently this doesn't fit here.

TIA to anyone that can help. I would really like to get this going otherwise I will need to wait a month or so before I get physical access to the router and can figure out what she is telling me.

Why dont you just have her setup remote login with a strong password and even ip limited if necessary so you can login and configure it yourself.

Thanks for the advice but I was able to find out what Linksys had done to me.

For the 1.01.03 release of the firmware, they changed the Ipsec VPN screen to match the one used in the RVS4000 and of course they didn't changed any of the documentation. It used to match the one currently in the wrv200. Now all is good.
