One of my flatmate is having trouble joining the network on WRV200. We've tried various parameters and security options etc, but he has never managed to join on it. It lists the network alright, but seems to lose it when it tries to join.

He uses older PowerBook (Ti with 900MHz or so) with the default AirPort card (not Extreme, 11b only). The wireless card works fine with the other network that has been in use and the University's on campus.

Linksys support suggested the following configuration but didn't work either (besides, there are three known ch11 networks around us):
     Channel: 11
     Beacon Interval: 50
     Fragmentation Threshold: 2304
     RTS Threshold: 2304

Has anyone seen something like this before?
    I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Ippei

PS. Yes, we are using b+g mixed mode without WMM.

try setting it to 802.11b only, not mixed.
thats what I have to do with my wifi phone.

Another thing is changing the channel; his card may be having problems connecting based on duplicate channel 11's being within range. Try and minimize the simple disparities and move from there :)
