WRV54G connection issues through remote home router.

I've been doing nothing but fighting one issue after another with the WRV54G trying to do VPN.

After reading through numerous posts here and elsewhere, I've gotten it to the point I can connect using QuickVPN from my home to the WRV54G at the office as long as my home machine is connected directly to the cable modem.

When my I try connecting using my home machine through my home router WRT54Gv2 I always get the "Remote Gateway not responding error". It clearly is an issue with the WRT home router not being configured right or just both the Linksys routers being POS.

    Any help??

The WRV54G is DHCP configured to hand out IP's starting at: 10.0.0.102.

My home WRT54G is setup for the normal 192.168.1.100 range.

I'm running the latest firmware on both. v4.20.7 on the WRT54G.
I've tried lowering the MTU to 1492 and 1450.
I have all the Firewall and Block WAN request options disabled.

I have all the VPN Passthrough options enabled.
I even have my machine set as the DMZ at 192.168.1.100.

I'm at a loss here. I'm about to chunk the whole thing and setup a Windows 2003 Server to host the VPN instead as I know those will at least work and not have all the clientside issues the WRV has.

    Thanks.
    Scott

Download DrTCP and set your MTU to 1350. Your packets are most likely fragmenting. If you're getting "verifying network" and it's still dropping out, you need to be sure you don't have "any" of the problems listed inside of the "reasons quickvpn won't connect."

I use quickvpn "constantly" so if you are having problems, run that list again, you're not too far off...
