With the Firmware 2.37 WRV54G has set the Default MTU size to be 576 and this made my video phone to not work. Can anyone throw more light on this?

tbh you MTU needs to be setup with your ISP connection. usually Cablemodems use 1500, ADSL use 1492

576 would be incompatable and may not be supported by the video phones own software.

My ISP is Comcast and they set it as 1500. But when WRV54G sends the DHCP discover it requests for among other things, the MTU size and when the cable modem does not respond to that request, it sets itself to 576.

Then I set it to manual value of 1500 to get it work as my videophone would not work with fragmented packets

Really you should be using the 2.39.2 firmware as the one your using is pretty old

The new firmware ( 2.39.2 ) has the same behavior. F/W 2.36 works good though. Anyways I put on the new firmware and set the MTU to manual and now everything is working fine.

Thanks for all the input guys...
