    Ain't working

You need a user name and password in order to get in! And it is not admin/admin

Sorry, but I am just the messenger here!

has anyone worked up the "sack" to try and load this firmware on their WRV54G? I've already bricked one and I'm not to keen to press forward yet with another flash above 2.37.13...

I flashed both the 2.38.7 & 2.39 last night & have switched back to 2.38.6 already . What a major disappointment linksys has turned out to be . Theres still no AES wireless encryption in either the 2.38.7 or 2.39 . Email log function dont work in either version .

I would be intrested in what they claimed to have fixed cause it appears they break something in each new version .

Talking to the usual inept Linksys WRV54G support, they claimed that 2.39 should fix issues with "remote management". I guess that could be anything from SNMP issues to port access for remote management. It was impossible for them to be more specific as this was "beta software". Since there hasn't been any official version since 2.37 of 12/04, I wonder when they are going to release anything new "officially", that works according to their promises.

I can only hope that "doc's" getting "Linksys to earn up" initiative, see other thread in the WRV54G forum, will get Linksys/Cisco to understand that you need to back your marketing statement with action! The WRV54G should at least deliver the functionality it states that it is capable of

For now I have reverted the installation I support to just using it as a WAP and having a SonicWall taking care of the VPN and firewall, this is still a combo that is priced under a ditto similar Cisco configuration and it does a very good job!

I simply cannot waste more time on this product, which is another thing Linksys should realize. This product is targetted at the soho market, small business don't have support budgets to keep spending money on solutions that don't work, and they don't appreciate "black holes' of excuses!

    GRE/PPTP passthru

Can someone try this firmware and confirm that Linksys fixed the GRE passthru problem?

Guess that will be me then :D

Only difference I've noticed from the 2.38.6 firmware is the VPN Gateway option is missing

One thing i've noticed with 2.39 is that you can now upgrade the firmware remotely and the config doesn't get erased. Once you are at 2.39 you can load other configs. I updated a router from 2.36 to 2.39 and was able to restore his config.....

Looks like they got one thing right on this thing so far. Maybe someone can confirm this as well, I didn't get to spend much time on this to find any bugs.

I was successful in upgrading my router to 2.39.

After installing this version, I was able to create a VPN tunnel to an RV082 that actually worked, where as in firmware 2.36 the tunnel would ping but no data passed thru.

I suggest we refrain from posting such stuff. linksys will eventually change the passwords as we are not supposed to have access to this site, we wont have the privileged access then will we?

I dont want linksysinfo accountable to linksys for dropping private logon/passwords to everyone especially if someone trashes their router due to incompatabilities with beta firmwares.

If a user needs the logon stuff we can take it to pm and the user can make up his/her own mind where to use it or not.
