WRV54G hangs-up

    Hi together,

I have real bad experiences with my WRV54G router.
It hangs-up every day (mostly at night!) so that all LEDs flash permanent (Power, LAN1, LAN2). The only chance to reactivate the router is to unplug the power supply.
I tried any firmware (2.3.7 (US, EU), 2.3.8).
The linksys support recommended the 2.3.7 US-Version to me. But the situation was the same. Then I got a totally new WRV54G router from linksys, but once more the situation was the same.

Now I’m really frustrated. I need a stable internet connection, because I want to dial in via VPN to reach my server behind the firewall.

Has anybody of you similar problems, or better a solution!!

By the way I have already changed the ADSL router!!
With my old D-Link router everything works fine (but without VPN!) .

    My configuration:
    -) PPTP
    -) DHCP-Server
    -) DynDNS
    -) WLAN (WEP, 128 Bit)
    -) VPN (QuickVPN)

    Thanks in advance,
    Martin

I hereby recommend the x-modem ce from adslnation:

    http://www.adslnation.com/products/xmodem-ce.php

    http://www.adslnation.com/products/xcespec.php

You can get it for 50 pounds direct from adslnation (mayber cheaper from broadband buyer.com or nickknows.com. In my opinion, it's a waste trying to "bridge" a modem/router combo device in order to get your WRV54G connected; just get a "pure" modem and your troubles will be gone :) Once I connected my x-modem, WRV worked fine, and quickvpn is solid!
