WRV54G Stability

I have been reading through all of the old posts about this router and some of the problems it has. I really like the router, I have a VPN tunnel setup to another WRV54G, wireless and wired computers, ddns etc. The throughput is good (no real loss). It has everything I need and then some. BUT, the thing keeps resetting on me (in 2-5 minutes). I have read a lot of posts on this issue, but have yet to find anyone with a solution. Before I begin the misery of contacting support, are there any solutions out there? I have just set the MTU value to be manual/1500 as per some of the previous posts. Anything else? It shipped with the latest firmware (2.39.2), I have not done anything with it yet. I have asked the other end if they are experiencing similar problems or not. Thanks for your help.

Haven't had any stability problems with mine in a long while. What is it connected to on the WAN side, a cable modem, ADSL modem, etc?

Cable modem (Rogers in Canada). I have been using a linksys router on it for 6 years without issue. Stability does seem to have improved with the MTU update and VPN disabled. I have just enabled VPN again to see if things get worse again or not. Thanks.
