WRVS4400N: Low Performance in N Mode

I'm having some throughput issues with WRVS4400N router.

I've got 2 PCs connected to my router:
    • computer A: connected using linksys WPM300N PCI card (OS: WIN XP)
    • computer B: connected using linksys WUSB300N USB adapter (OS: WIN XP)

In my test was putting the router right next to the access points (about 30 cm away) so signal shouldn't be a issue.

    When I do a file copy from A to B or from B to A I get a throughput of about 300 KB/s (!) in N mode. When I do the same in G mode I get at least 600 KB/s.

I've also tried connecting A using a network cable. In that situation I get about 2-3 MB/s.

Anyone an idea what could cause these poor transfer rates?
