I am trying to QuickVPN (ver 1.2.8) from a remote PC (Vista) to a WRVS4400N router (ver V1.1.03). The process gets stuck when the QuickVPN shows "Verifying Network". The remote PC is behind a Netgear WGT624. Any idea why it's not working?

Welcome to Linksys. I have been waiting over a year for a fix. I bought my Linksys just for VPN and Vista. What a joke. It has been over 8 months since firmware has been released and 6 months since the lastest version of QVPN. Linksys has drop to below standard. Good Luck

Guys, I have been forwarded a reply about this issue.

"It's a known issue with RVS4000 and WRVS4400N that Vista QuickVPN Client does not work when the client is behind a NAT. We have a RVS4000 beta firmware that fixed the issue, and will have a fix for WRVS4400N later. Currently we are focusing on supporting ProtectLink Gateway on RVS4000 and WRVS4400N."

I'll let you guys know when a new firmware comes available.

Thanks! I thought the Netgear WGT624v2 allows VPN passthrough. Is there a way to simply open the relevant ports on the WGT624v2 (I already allowed port triggering (inbound?) and port forwarding (outbound?) for ports 443 & 60443 but it didn't help.

    how to upgrade

I downloaded the firmware and installed it but I cannot use quickVPN on a Vista machine behind a wrvs4400n router to connect to a remote router RV042. Can you explain how you set up your connection. Thanks.

Also, my issue was somewhat different from yours: I was trying to VPN to a WRVS4400N from a Vista machine that was behind a Netgear router.

Something else I've noted since the posting of new wrvs4400n firmware is that I can now use quickvpn from behind it were before it wasn't possible, or should I say "easy" unless you configured the Hell out of your ACL's...

Hi, I'm having the same problem... but this is after I upgraded to the new firmware. Is it possible to test the VPN from within the network or do I have to go external to test it? Might this be the problem? I just set it up a few hours ago and I'm pulling out my hair to get it to work. I *need* this to work, as I am setting it up for a friends home business. It just goes to the verifying network part and then disconnects... usually making me restart the computer to get internet access back.
