Did anyone manage to use WakeonLan (wol) through a Linksys WRT54G router?
Here is my setup and what I tried so far:
Brand new WRT54G modem with 3.03.6 firmware
Winxp box on port 1 (wol enabled, I have used it before)
Rh9 linux box on port 2 – always on.

I want to be able to wake up my winxp PC from the RH9 box by sending it the magic packet.
I’ve read some solutions where you can just forward a port (9, or 32767, or whichever) on the router to the broadcasting address and that should do the trick. When I tried doing that, WRT54G would not allow me to forward anything to I went around that by changing the subnet mask to so he broadcasting address for my network became After setting up the port forwarding, it would still not come up.
Anyone know of a solution? Can it be done with the official firmware, or I need a different one : in this case which one? Other then the wol support, I am happy with the features on the official firmware…

    Any help is much appreciated
