I am trying to install a WUSB54G Adapter on a Windows 98SE machine. I downloaded the latest firmware from the linksys website for the USB adapter. During the install I get a NDINST illegal operation. I can click close on the message box and error goes away and I can continue with installation, but once the software is installed the USB adapter can connect to the Router, but it does not get a IP address. I am assuming the NDINST illegal operation is part of the problem. I even tried with security disabled and it still would not get an IP address.

update: after messing around with the driver and some settings i was able to get a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx ip, so it seems i am getting closer.

    any ideas?

well interestingly enough, when i got home and turned the pc on the wireless worked ... have no idea what happened. maybe it just needed a reboot last night.
