WUSB54G - Windows XP detected as unknown usb devices

I'm a WUSB54G version 4.0 user and connected to WRT54G as my router.
It works fine if I do not shut down my PC.
However, everytime I switch on my PC again, the Power LED on the wusb54g ver4.0 doesn't on at all. I need to unplug/plug more than 100 times in order for the Windows XP to detect it as a valid wireless network adaptor again.
The problem doesn't occur if i restart my pc.
Is there anyone here having the same problem I faced?
Is my driver problem (I've downloaded the latest driver from linksysinfo.org) but it still the same issue, or my mobo having issues (I can use the same usb port for my portable hdd/mouse)? any tweak needs to be done?
If you have the solution, I really need your help.

    Some possible reasons:
    1) Your USB port is dirty with dust.
    2) Your motherboard is not providing enough power for the USB port.

    thank kiwi8.

both of ur possible reasons might not be the answers as the same port I used for my portable hdd and other usb devices such as card reader/mouse are working fine.

In that case, on both sides of the connection, try not to plug in the port and device fully (about 95% will do), see if it improves the detection.
