    Good Evening All,

Sorry I am sure this subject has been done to death but my laptop keeps crashing which is making me struggle to search past threads. I seem to have similar problems to other people with my WVC200 IP Camera. Most people talk about using firmware 1.1 with success. My camera has 1.01 which I beleive is problematic. Would someone be king enough to point me in the in direction of firmware 1.1 please.

    Many thanks in advance.

    HI Simon,

Thanks very much for your speedy reply. I did notice these on the download site but as it said v1.0 i didnt think it was the correct version. I ave since downloaded the v1.2 but I am currently at work, I have noticed it was US Version, so after clicking on your link for the UK version once downloaded there is nothing in the folder which is strange. Would there be any issues with me using the US version?

    Regards
    Pete

There should not be any real issue with using the US version just that the wireless channels will be 1-11 instead of 1-13. I did notice the issue of the UK/EU version after i had posted the message. I have reported the file link as broken on the uk site which hopefully will be fixed soon.

Thanks for all you help Simon much appreciated. I installed 1.2 US firmware last night and were getting there slowly. Before I contact LinkSys I do have another couple of issues.

1.: Still cant get the camera to work wirelessly, after having a look on the web most suggestions are to set both my router and WVC200 camera to no security for testing purposes. I have done this but still no luck. Any Suggestions on this one?

2: When I access the Camera from work or another remote location and select "View Video" All i get is a white screen!! But if i go to the options on Pan & tilt and can see the camera fine!!! IE problem maybe, need to check another PC, maybe with IE6 on.

3: Using the monitor software, I downloaded the version that is compatible with Vista which stopped errors appearing so all good there. I can configure the camera no problem within the software, there is an option for Lan or Internet. Setting up the Internet one today and testing the connection all seems good and the tests pass. But I cant get the camera to view at all.

After saying all the above I can schedule a record which does work fine. Very strange. Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

Started to think Iv done a wrong one here.

    Hi Simon,

I have tried the EU software and viewing over the we seems more stable. I have also tried a third party WebCam Monitor software and that is fine so I guess it is the software that is a little more buggy.

If you dont mind I have one more question on the wireless side. I have played around with Wireless for years and like to think I know what I am doing, however there is one thing I cant get my head round with this camera.

1: The Wireless settings page contains security settings. what I cant get my head round is am I supposed to mirror image the settings of my router to make it work wirelessly? Also I have been trying to set it up using the infrastructure settings but should I be using the Ad-hoc settings. If you could advise me on this before I conclude that the camera is faulty with regards to wireless settings. Regards Pete

it should work via infastructure mode. can you see at least the WVC200's MAC address from the router?

have you tried using no encryption on the router and the wvc or tried a static ip address etc for the wvc200?
