Just installed the Linksys video camera, but am having problems with registering with Sololink. Anyone have any idea how to contact Sololink (Tried Linksys customer support but they weren't much help!) Or alternatively, can anyone explain how to access the camera remotely from the internet???

Ist of all make sure that ports 1024 and 1025 are forwarded to whatever address you have for you webcam.

When you were signing up for service you had to enter a name for your camera.

    Should work using www.wvc11b.******.ourlinksys.com
where ***** is the name you assigned camera.

To access from your computer just http to the address camera had or type in the web command above.

I have ports 1024, 1025 and 1026 set to forward as per the docs from Linksys; still no joy setting the SoloLink option to work. Just get automated email suggestions from Linksys rather than someone actually looking at the contents of the emails.

Going to look at DynDNS.org next and give up on SoloLink.

The camera itself is way too expensive for the functionality/quality on offer. No FTP, limited to ASF video files, no zoom/pan/focus options, 5 seconds woth of video max at minimum of 2 minutes interval when set for movement detection, video quality marginal if there's not much light making it almost useless for night time security/checking on the kids.

On the other hand, great to see kit like this in the marketplace and I'm sure that Linksys will improve what's on offer.

The cam will only work when you connect to it using an IP address or a FQDN of *.ourlinksys.com.

This appears to be to force you to pay for their service instead of your own DNS.

What's the model number of your router by the way?
