If Toxic is reading this: Has there been any idea of a new website design for linksysinfo.org.

Unlike many forum websites linksys is about technology, the #1 thing of what makes our world what it is today, and from the improvement this website has gone through (blocking hackers and spammers and moderators helping in forums) I think this website site should be redesigned to fit the comfort of most users.

If this website is part of the Linksys division then there should be enough money supported to redesign it. A better look for what it represents of technology of computing and networking, a more slim access to forums would make things much easier, and maybe a sidebar for searching linksys products, FAQ's and a computer&networking word finder or online dictionary.

I mean I was part of linksys and worked for a wealthy corporation I would do this to any website I made. I like networking and know most of everything by heart. So Toxic im guessing you and someone else probably created this website, right? Any possibility that this website will be changed in the future?

I just would like a new look to the site, I know my webdesigning skills and I think this website should be decorated a bit more.

    Hi SAPo57,

Toxic and I created this site back in April 2004 and as you've seen its gone through many iterations and changes and always have big plans ;-)

First and foremost, LinksysInfo is NOT a division of Linksys or Cisco or any other corporation and we are not supported by them either. This is just the two of us running the site day to day with the help of the moderators in the forums and users helping each other. We both have full time jobs outside of this site and this is a side project for both of us. That said, the financial situation comes down to most donations and ad revenue (which is really not much more than what keeps the site alive).

We are currently looking at moving to a new content management system, but have to find time between the two of us that we can devote to transferring everything.

We would love to be able to bring a full redesign and add in many of the features we have in mind and that users like you suggest. Its largely a matter of time (and money if we could pay someone for their work). If anyone would like to donate their design skills, reviews, or volunteer to moderator or in any other way help out, please, please, let us know!!

If you or anyone has any ideas on what would make the site better - Email or PM either myself or Toxic and we'll see what we can do - If you want to help out - give me a call or email.

Thanks to everyone for their support and constant encouragement!!!

Probably by next year when I get my full time job with CISCO I'll donate enough for the site. I mean some may think it's a waste of money, but the job im going to have is what a few only get in this world. So money to me won't be such a big thing and maybe I could help out.

Trust me. People all around call me the "Networking Geek" not because I know the stuff, but I love it. Soon You guys are going to hear a lot about me as me and my group(my friends who volunteered) are doing a project. This "project" is about our new design of Linksys routers possibly that will be a leading product on the world market. I don't fully know of its specification since Im taking my Cisco courses, but I do know that my friends are on the verge for its' creation.

Another project we're starting is about a new removable hard drive more or less like the the thumb drive that can connect to a device other than using a usb connection and can use other features as well that no other removable drive can do.

Im the one who basically designs the device, programs the device, and setup the software. These "projects" will take about 3 years before we can present them for use in a business.

Thanks for your comments, however you failed to look at the main picture behind linksysinfo.

Linksysinfo is NOT part of linksys.com or cisco. Both James and I have jobs. these have priority over this site. we dont work here full time. I wish i could, what an easy life that would be.

Yea I know you don't work here full time. A forum website isn't the type of job anybody would want(as their only job) since there isn't any guarantee of donations and whose gonna pay you to keep the site up. Well with common sense I kind of figured out you need jobs to make a website and keep it.

I just thought Cisco and linksys was behind it.

    End of discussion....
