Yet Another Wired-to-Wireless Network Problem

Okay, forgive me if this one's already been mentioned, but I'm frying my brains trying to get this to work. I've got a BEFSR81 that I'd like to add a WRT54G as a wireless router for my house. You'd think this was simple. Nope. The router works right up until the point when I put in the wireless security settings, then it goes and does the timeout death shuffle.

I've tried everything: renaming the IP on the wireless unit, turning off the wireless' NAT, giving it a static IP, trying to set it up on several different computers, etc. and I really at my wits' end trying to figure out what the heck it might be. So any assistance would be much appreciated, thanks.
